The Croatian Automobile Club (Hrvatski autoklub, HAK) was founded in Pola, in 1991.

HAK continues the activity and is grounded upon the traditions of the First Croatian Automobile club which was founded in Zagreb, in 1906, the First Croatian Motorcycle club founded in 1921, the Automobile-motorcycle Union of Croatia founded in 1946, and the Auto-Motor Union of Croatia, founded in the year 1948.

HAK is a unique national association, which joins the recognised automobile clubs in the territory of the Republic of Croatia. HAK is a member of FIA (Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile) and AIT (Alliance Internationale de Tourisme).

Risk Mapping

The Automobile Club of Croatia (HAK) was an Observer of the SENSoR project and produced a Risk Map of 3,396km covering the 2010-2012 data period.

Star Rating

As part of the SENSoR project, inspections of 346km were carried out, 61% of which were single carriageways and Star Ratings were produced.

57% of vehicle occupant Star Ratings acheived 3-star or higher.
