As part of a call-off framework, EuroRAP is working with consulting engineers Mott MacDonald in providing road safety support to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

Mott MacDonald engineers have been auditing upgraded roads in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) and EuroRAP is providing research support on crash rates in the region, drawing on work from the SENSoR project in South East Europe. Mott’s initial work has dealt with a 37km section of the Shtip-Radovish Expressway in FYROM.

Steve Lawson, EuroRAP’s Partnership and Research Director, said: ‘We are very pleased to be able to be working with Mott MacDonald in this way. The SENSoR project was a great example of outstanding cooperation between automobile clubs and road authorities. Working with road engineers in this way can maximise the use of project results.’
