Purpose of the CampaignIn countries where road traffic law is generally respected, the research now consistently shows that safer roads can save more lives than safer vehicles or safer drivers. The need for safer drivers and vehicles is well understood - the need for safer roads is not. The purpose of the campaign is to educate informed opinion about the role that safer roads can play in saving lives. The aim of our campaign is to save lives on the roads by making decision makers and the public aware of what needs to be done to improve the road infrastructure, and giving them solutions which will make a difference. The overall objectives of the campaign are:
